Accelera to wind down after 2.5 years enabling digital disruption

After 2.5 years of success in the Cloud and Digital transformation space, Accelera’s leadership team has decided to wind down the company over the coming months.

Founded in 2019 by CEO, Anthony Woodward, Accelera focused on strategic disruption consulting services. The company enabled organisations like the NSW Health Care Complaints Commission to develop and implement a strategic approach to their digital transformation journey. To complement the core digital transformation enablement consulting, Accelera always planned to bring in leading technical delivery capability in house through acquisition.

In July 2020, Accelera executed on this strategy, bringing DevSecOps and Cloud Native security on board through the acquisition of Ayenem, a Sydney-based cloud security and automation services company. As part of the acquisition, Ayenem CEO Matt Flannery, became Accelera’s CTO. Over the last 12 months, the company has grown its Cloud-Native practice, bringing local specialist expertise in DevOps, Kubernetes and Cloud-Native Security to a market sorely in need of these skills. The industry-leading resources developed on the journey continue to be referenced and downloaded regularly from all over the world.

Accelera has successfully delivered a range of projects to over 20 organisations across the Australia / NZ market, naming Info Salons, CMC Markets, and an ASX listed disruptor in the financial services industry among the blue-chip list. The company has also formed strong and vibrant partnerships with leading technology vendors Hashicorp, Aqua Security, AWS and RedHat, among others.

We are proud of what we have achieved in the last 2.5 years. We’ve enabled our mid-market, government and enterprise customers to strategically transform, placing them in a strong position to confidently innovate and disrupt their respective industries. The feedback from the market has been very positive, and in recent months, separate opportunities have been offered to each of us in the leadership team – which will enable us to scale what we have learned, apply market leading capabilities to other endeavours, and help more customers.

This was a tough decision, with hours of discussions behind the scenes. While we ultimately agreed to wind down Accelera and pursue the opportunities that we were each presented, we remain genuinely passionate about enabling and empowering organisations to strategically disrupt. What you will see in the coming months is us amplifying this passion in different ways through our new roles.

We’d like to take this opportunity to thank our community for their support through the journey.
